We understand that buying pressies can be hard, and that sometimes an item that you loved at time of purchase may not be suitable once you get home, so we are happy to offer a store credit or an exchange on any full prices item that isn’t suitable. We do not accept returns or exchanges on discounted items.

Any item/s being returned must be in original condition, i.e. unworn, unwashed, no marks or damages, and with original tags attached. As we carry brands that are stocked at other retail outlets, you must have your receipt as proof of purchase.

You must return items within 14 days of purchase to qualify for an exchange or store credit.

Store credits do not have an expiry date and can be used on our online store. Store credits can not be used on workshops or consignment brands, unless the store credit was issued from a return on a consignment brand item.

Brands that are stocked under consignment terms can only be exchanged for items from the same brand. Consignment brands include -

Due to hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on swimwear. Beauty products must be unopen and unused to qualify for an exchange or store credit.

If you need to return an online store order, please note that we do not cover the cost of return postage.

To return an item follow the simple steps below.

In store - Return your purchase to us instore at 24 Oxford Street, Bulimba 4171

Online - Email us at  using the heading 'RETURN' or 'EXCHANGE'. Let us know your order number and item you wish to return and we will be in touch with in 48hrs. 

You must not return items to us until you have received a Return Authorisation number (RA#). Please note that we do not cover the cost of return postage.

Once your return has been approved and returned to us, we will process it through out returns department and notify you once approved through our returns process. ​




We only offer refunds on faulty items i.e. manufacturing fault. To qualify for a refund you must notify us immediately and return your item within 7 days of purchase and you must have your receipt.​



Our general refund and exchange policy applies, however we are happy to extend the time frame in which a Christmas present can be returned.

Refunds – one week after Christmas day

Exchanges or store credits – two weeks after Christmas day.

At The Common Thread we encourage curious minds and wandering souls, and so we are more than happy for your little ones to explore the store and play with toys and other items. Please keep in mind that the items in the store are for sale and need to be kept in a sellable condition, so if any items are marked, stained or broken beyond repair we will ask for the item to be paid for. However, we know accidents happen, so we are happy to offer any damaged items at 35% off the original RRP.
